The Tony Hillerman Writers Conference: Focus On Mystery is the premier conference of its kind in New Mexico. The 4-day conference attracts approximately 140 writers from throughout the country. Forty percent of our attendees are New Mexicans. We are listed in all the major publications for mystery writers in print and online and are promoted by the New Mexico tourism department and the Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce. On-going sponsors include Cowboys & Indians magazine, HarperCollins, the Penguin Group, and the University of New Mexico Press. The conference was founded in 2004 with the cooperation of Tony Hillerman, New Mexico’s premier mystery author. Mr. Hillerman has participated in the conference since its inception.
