"Chasing the Cure" Tour
Join author Nancy Owen Lewis and learn more about a defining part of New Mexico’s past.
Tour starts at May 1, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. at the Catholic Retreat Center (formerly Sunmount Sanatorium) with a breakfast buffet and an engaging presentation by Nancy in the original Sunmount living room
Bus departs at 9:15 a.m. and returns to Santa Fe by 6:00 p.m.
Tour based on the award-winning book, “Chasing the Cure in New Mexico: Tuberculosis and the Quest for Health”, by Nancy Owen Lewis (Museum of New Mexico Press, 2016)

Nancy Owen Lewis is a cultural anthropologist and currently scholar-in-residence at the School for Advanced Research (SAR) in Santa Fe, NM. She was SAR’s Director of Scholar Programs for 13 years. Her book, “Chasing the Cure in New Mexico: Tuberculosis and the Quest for Health”, was published in 2016 by the Museum of New Mexico Press.
